The PRINCE2 methodology has seven processes that include; Starting up the project where the project team is appointed and all stakeholders Project initiation where project initiation document is put together Directing the project where how the project will be overseen is defined Controlling project stages and work packages Management of project delivery and placing formal acceptance requirements Managing boundaries of each stage Project closure where the project is formally decommissioned The project followed the following main phases; project initiation, project planning, project execution, project control, and project closure (Tuttle, 2012) Project management techniques/tools The tools to be used include the Gantt chart (and WBS), and the Project Documentation Gantt chart and WBS This is a chart illustrating the schedule for a project and defines the project start and finish dates for the project, along with the project elements in a summarized form (Kendrick, 2010). The summary and terminal elements makeup the projects Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). The Gantt chart along with its elements and resources for tasks was developed using MS Project (see Appendix I and II). The project was initiated through a project integration management where a project management methodology (PRINCE2) and project management tools (Gantt and the Project Documentation) were selected as the process and framework that would identify, combine, define, coordinate, and unify all the project management process groups (Posner and Applegarth, 2014). The methodology and tools would ensure that all the ten PMBOK areas of knowledge in project management and best practices would be incorporated into the 39 AA project (Ruhe and Wohlin, 2014). Once these were done, the scope of the project was set and defined and then managed as per PMBOK guidelines (Dietmar W. Sokowski., 2015). This was done to ensure all the required tasks and works were undertaken; only the required works to successfully complete the project are included in the scope management (Roseke, 2014). These are detailed in the Gantt Chart (Appendix I) and the scope is briefly shown in the task sheet shown below; The schedule of the project was managed using the Gantt chart in order to ensure the timely completion of the project. The cost for the project is managed through the project cost management in which budgeting s done to estimate the financial costs that will ensure the successful completion of the project and the delivery of its objectives and deliverables (Ruhe and Wohlin, 2014). The budget was done through obtaining up to date quotations for works and materials as well as equipment and labor to ensure accurate project budget. An allowance was provided in the budget (10%) to take care of any emergencies and contingencies. A quality management plan was used to set the quality standards for the 39AA project. The quality document includes all activities and processes that determine the quality objectives, policies, and responsibilities so that the project objectives and deliverables are met to the satisfaction of the project owner. The project was undertaken with a recognition of the t riple constraints of time, scope, and resources, and as such the resources were judiciously allocated and used within the limits of constraints (Wilson, 2015). The human resources were managed effectively as shown in the Gantt chart, with specialists given responsibilities for tasks where they could exercise their expertise. The project team was effectively organized and managed, under the leadership of the project manager to ensure project objectives were fully met (Ruhe and Wohlin, 2014). Successful projects require effective and timely communication; communication of progress, instructions, reporting, and tackling challenges. This was taken into consideration in the 39AA project through a communications plan to manage the project communications. The communications management is the process required to ensure appropriate and timely planning, creation, collection, distribution, management, storage, retrieval, control, monitoring, and ultimately, the disposition of the project information (Taylor and Dow, 2013). All projects have inherent risks; as such, project risk management was undertaken through a risk management plan. The risk management entails conducting risk management planning, where risks are identified, evaluated, responses planned, risks controlled, and monitoring of the risks done (Landau, 2016). To ensure value for money, procurement for the project was managed for cost effective and quality acquisition of products, resources, and materials. Suppliers and contractors were selected following the project procurement management principles to source contractors, manage contracts, and close out the contracts. The procurement management was achieved through procurement planning, source selection, solicitation, and solicitation planning, and contract administration (Pinto and Venkataraman, 2013). As with any project, the 39 AA project also had stakeholders, whose management is crucial in the success of the project. Stakeholder management is the process required to identify all parties of interest to a project, stakeholders expectations, impact, and influences are evaluated, and appropriate management strategies developed to engage the stakeholders effectively in the project decision making and execution. This was undertaken using the stakeholder management document. These three traits have been nicknamed the Psychopathological Triad. The first of these behaviors is enuresis, more commonly known as bed-wetting. This behavior is completely normal and common in small children. If the behavior continues into the pubescent years however, it may be a sign of an emotionally disturbed individual. Studies have shown that sixty percent of serial killers have experienced such behavior. Pyromania is the second of these behaviors. Many serial killers became sexually aroused by the act of setting fire to things. They derive a certain sense of power from causing destruction and are often delighted to watch things burn. The last and most disturbing is animal torture. Children or adolescents who take pleasure in hurting other living things may be in need of psychological help. For some it is a passing phase that is looked back upon with shame and regret. For others who continue to enjoy such behavior and show no remorse for it, it can be a serious problem. Psychological: The psychological element can be identified in the idea that Varaz has a self-confidence issue. In other words, he begins to feel intimidated by the opponents and this could lead to his disability to do his job well. He also becomes depressed quickly. Thats why when he fails to block a certain ball, he believes that his team is going to lose the match and that he will continue his failure till the end of the match. Finally, he gets nervous very quickly and thats why his reactions could cause him problems with other players of his team or with the opponents. Social factors: one of the best traits in the personality of Varaz and that affect his performance as a goalkeeper is; when he becomes motivated and enthusiastic to play well, he transfers this enthusiasm and cheerfulness to the players in his team. Reversibility: Varaz doesnt suffer from any kind of injury or broken arms or foot. However, if he starts to feel pain in any organ, the training will be stopped till he becomes better. This is because; if we push him to do more than he can, he will be very depressed quickly and this could lead to the lack of his skills instead of improving them. Tedium: In order not to make Varaz feel demotivated or depressed, we will offer him times of breaks and provide him with snacks as well as means of entertainment. Positron Emission Tomography Positron Emission Tomography is a scanning technique that allows us to measure in detail the functioning of distinct areas of the human brain while the patient is comfortable, conscious and alert. PET represents a type of functional imaging, unlike X-rays or CT scans, which show only structural details within the brain. The differences between these types of imaging don’t end there. In both X-rays and CT scans, a form of radiation is emitted and travels through the body, and a detector receives the unabsorbed rays and transmits them to a computer. The physics behind PET scanning is quite different. Basically, a person is injected with a radioactive substance. This substance begins the process of radioactive decay inside of the person and interacts with the tissue to produce gamma radiation. These gamma rays are detected by scintillation crystals and transmitted to a computer, where images are produced. But how does this all take place? The description of PET scans in detail requires the understanding of the radioactive substance injected into the subject. First, a small amount of a biochemical substance is tagged with a positron-emitting radioisotope. A positron is an â€Å"anti-electron.† Positrons are given off during the decay of the nuclei of the radioisotope. When the positron emitted collides with an electron in the tissue of the subject, both the positron and the electron are annihilated. When this happens, the collision produces two gamma rays having the same energy (511 KeV), but going in opposite directions. These gamma rays, produced by the annihilation of a positron and an electron, leave the patient’s body and are detected by the PET scanner. The detection of positron-annihilation events forms the heart of any PET scanner. In most systems, the Gamma detector is a BGO (bismuth germinate oxide) crystal, a high-density scintillator. When it is combined with high performance photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), the detection of 511 KeV gamma rays is possible. These BGO crystals are arranged into 64 distinct segments so that the scintillation light from each of the segments can be distributed onto the photocathodes of four photomultiplier tubes to be amplified. These â€Å"block detectors† are placed into modules of four arranged as eight columns of 32 rows of crystals each. A ring of these detectors surrounds the patient during... ...kinson’s disease, or schizophrenia. Recently, new advances have been made in PET technology. A pair of American scientists working in Switzerland came up with a combination PET/CT scanner, which effectively pairs the two techniques. This new combination will be very useful in cancer diagnosis. With the PET/CT, both anatomical and functional imaging can be done and reproduced on the same image. This will be helpful in pinpointing the location of tumors, and also for the early identification of tumors too small to be of concern in CT scanning.
